Action Alert:  Ask your U.S. Representative and U.S. Senators to co-sponsor the Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2011.  The Breastfeeding Promotion Act of 2011 includes two provisions that would protect and expand working moms' right to breastfeed by:

  • amending civil rights law to protect breastfeeding mothers from being fired or discriminated against in the workplace
  • extending the existing federal provision to ensure that an additional 13.5 million executive, adminstrative, and professional employees including teachers, have break time and a private place to pump in the workplace.
